ABOUT PETER FARRELLY

Peter Farrelly is an American filmmaker, director, screenwriter, producer, and novelist. He worked for many years with his brother, Bobby Farrelly, to write, direct, and produce comedies. These include There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, Stuck on You, Fever Pitch and others. Farrelly co-wrote and directed Green Book in 2018. He received two Oscars at the 91st Academy Awards, for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. He also won two Golden Globes for Green Book—for Best Screenplay and Best Picture.

In addition to his film work, Farrelly is a published novelist. He wrote the novels Outside Providence and The Comedy Writer and the children’s book Abigail the Happy Whale.

Farrelly is a long-time supporter of disability rights.

Peter Farrelly’s list of film credits include Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Osmosis Jones, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You, Fever Pitch, The Heartbreak Kid, Hall Pass, The Three Stooges, Dumb and Dumber To, and Green Book. Of these films, he was the writer for 11 of them and the producer for 11 as well. He also co-wrote the movie Outside Providence.

Farrelly is the co-creator, co-director, and co-writer of the TV series Loudermilk. He is currently working on an upcoming Quibi series called The Now.
